Scribbly Gum Tree

For the last couple of days I have been posting photos of scribbly gum tree bark so today I thought I would show you what the whole tree looks like.

Although they are beautiful, they do not look half as exciting as their bark.

It's taller than I thought......but then.......I have one in my garden that the label lied on. It said "miniature gum" and should grow to "4 feet tall." Currently stands around 35 feet........

@ludwigsdiana I agree, the tree looks rather scraggy compared to the bark doesn't it.

Until recently I thought Scribbly Gums were a particular species of Eucalypt - but Scribbly gum is a name given to a variety of different Australian Eucalyptus trees which play host to the larvae of scribbly gum moths - these species are found elsewhere but are not scribbly because the moth is only found throughout New South Wales on the coast and around Sydney - I learn something new all the time hahahaha
