Mystery Plant
This week I am posting photos taken from the path along the waterfront from my house to the marina.
I can't for the life of me remember what this plant is called, can someone help me identify it please?

Sorry no help here since we do not have palm trees or plants like them in northeastern Pennsylvania! Interesting plant to be sure.

Cool capture. Looks like a sago palm. Had one like it for a while and it got too big, so had to pull it up.

Sago Palm, as Rick shared. They are one of my favorites. They are pricey in the States.

It's one sort of palm for sure. I have one very similar to it in a big pot in my front garden.

Ha ha indeed. Apparently, we have a few palm readers here on 365 because it has been identified by a few people as a sago palm.

Thanks, it has been identified as a sago palm by some of you clever people. I remember now because a neighbour of mine used to have one in her front garden but took it out recently. I do love 365 because there is always someone who can identify plants for me. Thanks again.

I would say it's more likely to be a cycad? Especially in your location - unless it was in someone's garden.

I’m not familiar with it but it’s wonderful. I’d like one in my garden but I guess it’s too cold over here. Fav.

It wasn't in anyone's garden it was just along some of the planted areas along the waterfront path as you can probably see in the photo taken a couple of days ago.
Is a cycad a sago palm or are they two different varieties?

Thanks for identifying it for me. Some people say a cycad and some say sago palm but I think they are both the same. Maybe a sago palm is a variety of cycad. It is a beautiful plant and it is huge. I will have to go back and take another photo of it with David standing next to it to show you how big it is.
