Not an award winning photo, but this has been our day today, from Mittagong to Nelson Bay - Hume Highway, M7, M2, F3 and the final leg to home. All I need now is a cup of tea! I'm not jet lagged I'm Subaru lagged if there is such a thing!
Perhaps you could have called it Humeward Bound? (given the name of the highway). I'll bet that your cup of tea was sorely needed and gratefully received.
@shirleytemple@joluise@steampowered Had a few cups of tea since we got home. You get tea at the services and cafes but nothing is like the one you have in your own home is there. Must be my Yorkshire upbringing! My Mum's answer to everything was a nice cup of tea.
You could call it Humeward bound, never thought of that. Most of the trip from Melbourne to Sydney is on the Hume. It runs for about 800 km.
It may not win awards but it certainly documents highway driving and how the experience is similar in many other countries. If you had labelled this "the M1 between Milton Keynes and Birmingham" (UK) I would not have been able to contradict you.
@davidgnc Indeed. I think the only difference between our freeways and the UK is the amount of traffic. Before we came to Australia 23 years ago we used to travel on the M1 and M6 regularly and the traffic then was horrendous so God knows what it is like now!
