Haven't had time to take a photo today, so I am posting this one which I took on Saturday.
On the 1st June I posted a photo similar to this one where I had balanced a rock on top of a slanting boulder on the beach.
On Saturday while David and I were out walking I saw the rock again and, of course, it had fallen off and was on the ground. I thought I would have another go at balancing it on the boulder and then thought I would get really clever and put more rocks on top of it. As you can see I managed to put three more rocks on there and balance them, but thought at that point that I was tempting fate to try more, so took a photo of it before it collapsed! It was still standing when we left, but don't know how long it lasted.
@paulaw Thanks Paula. If this was in my garden I think I would have to keep rebuilding it though. I can see that this is going to prove to be a challenge as I walk past this section of beach regularly and whenever I see the rock on the ground I will have to balance it again. Is this a touch of OCD!!!
@padlock@winnedreamer@dekky740@joluise@gamelee Thanks for your lovely comments on my creation. I can see that this is going to be an ongoing mission!!! Sorry to group you all together, but I have got a medical appointment in Newcastle today and am in a bit of a rush now.
@brennan1983 Yes it's for real. I was amazed that I managed to balance the rock twice. The first time I tried it I only did the one rock, then this time I balanced it again and added three more. Every time I pass that bit of the beach now I am going to have to put the rock back on the boulder and try again aren't I!!!!
@gypsy6 If they do they will have to start from scratch like I did, because you only have to touch it slightly and it falls down. I don't think it stays there long each time, because when the wind blows it will be gone.
