I am not going to get chance to take a photo today, so this is one I took on my way home from Morpeth last Thursday.
I had to Google this one to be on the safe side!!!
Apparently, Dr Morse's Indian Root Pills were one of the most successful and enduring products to be manufactured and marketed in North America according to Wikipedia.
Its manufacturer claimed the pills contained herbal ingredients that would help "cleanse the blood," as "impurity of the blood" was believed to be the cause of all disease.
This isn't what I had in mind as to their function, but what do I know. Maybe something was lost in the translation into Australian!!
What a find - I love the blue with the green and grey, it works so well. I have never heard of Indian Root pills and I wonder why its on the side of this shed in Australia!!
@paulaw Thanks Paula. It was a bit of a grey day, but still warm for this time of year. Ideal for our walking group day. We thought it would rain, but it never happened.
@davidgnc@winnedreamer Thanks David and Nic. It has got character and I suspect Nic that it gets repainted regularly. It is a bit of a tourist attraction for photographers around that area. I have seen it on Flickr and other sites.
@angelat Thanks Angela. I think it will be propped up for quite a while as it seems to be a regular photographers subject, usually when they have been to Morpeth.
@havrotb Thanks Barbara. Looking it up on Google it does appear that they claim to cure all ills. Morpeth is a regular tourist town and this is on the road out of there, so I suppose they maintain the paintwork on a regular basis to keep the tourists happy.
