Anticipation by onewing

Anticipation

Today I had to go into Nelson Bay, so walked down to Little Beach to see if I could find a suitable photo.

This is a bit busy and not the best photo in the world, but this fisherman who was gutting his fish seems to have got quite a gathering of pelicans in anticipation of being thrown the unwanted bits of fish.
It's a great photo Babs I love the busyness of it and the way all the beaks point to the spoils!

Thats brilliant. The way the pelicans seem to be waiting patiently for a bit of fish has been well captured.

@joluise No he didn't disappoint them. Every time he threw a bit of the guts at them all beaks moved in that direction. It was so funny to watch.

@aecasey Thanks April. They were just like children. There were a couple of squabbles too though when they fought for the bits of fish which were bring thrown for them.

@gamelee Thanks Lee. The pelicans here are so well fed that they didn't fight too much. Just a couple of troublemakers!!!

@tillycarter Thanks Krista

@gypsy6 He was surrounded. It was hilarious. Every so often when they got impatient they flew up onto the sinks and got really close to him trying to pinch his filleted fish so he had to get the hose pipe and spray them.

@marie65 @angelat Thanks. I love watching pelicans, especially down at this beach when the fishermen are gutting their catch.

It may not be an "arty" shot but my goodness it tells a story!

@angelar Thanks Angela. It was hilarious to watch. The poor chap had to have the hose pipe handy when they got a bit close trying to pick up the fish he had already filleted.

There quite a congregation, a preacher would love this much attention from his flock.
