Through the lattice work

I am posting early today because I am going to the cinema with friends this afternoon.

I was looking through the lattice work at the botanical gardens and a kangaroo just hopped into view. Had to get a photo of that. I just liked the fact that all the diamond shapes had a different picture in them.

Love this Babs and love the kangaroo in one of the peek holes! Enjoy the cinema! I haven't walked too far out of the house yet!

@eyesmile It's true Gena. We live in Australia. Kangaroo's hop around the gardens all the time. You even get them on the golf course at Nelson Bay.

@savannah51 Thanks Sharon. Don't blame you for not going too far from the house today. Deb said it is 41 today where she is.

Well done for capturing him before he hopped off again. I also like the fact each diamond has a different pic in it like old photos placed on black card for a display. Enjoy the cinema, what are you going to see?

@paulaw Thanks Paula. Saw quite a few roos wandering around. Must because it is so dry at the moment. Looking for water in the botanic gardens.
Went to see The Book Thief. Brilliant.

@hermann Thanks Sally. Only got a quick shot at this one. Just as I looked through the lattice work the roo hopped into the picture and then before I knew it he was gone again.

@paulaw Yes occasionally, brilliant film. @eyesmile Brilliant movie. @heidihp @joeyc @mercuria Thanks. Hunter Region Botanic Gardens is only a small gardens and is run mainly by volunteers. It has a huge range of native plants and trees and contains two wetlands too which is why there are lots of native birds and wildlife. (including snakes). You have to watch out for the snakes. On a previous visit a 7 ft long goanna wandered past me. I saw quite a few roos the day I took this shot. Probably because it was so dry and they were looking for water. Only saw one snake though and that was a red bellied black snake, so not too deadly.

@sunraye Thanks Raye. Not been too hot on the east coast, but in the mid 30s C (about 95 F). It has been in the mid 40s in Melbourne where my daughter is though and she is melting!!!!

@angelat Thanks Angela. Saw loads of wildlife at Heatherbrae. Have you ever been there? It is only small, but because it has native plants it attracts lots of birdlife, wildlife and mozzies!!!
