We have been away for a few days and I am now on catch up.
Got back tonight from a 3 day trip to Canberra, mainly to see two exhibitions.
1 Gold and the Incas Exhibition at the National Gallery Canberra
2 Mapping our World Exhibition at the National Library of Canberra
We did lots of other things too as you will see from the photos. It has been a very busy 3 days and I will catch up with your photos and reply to your comments on my photos at the weekend.
This photo is of the Deep Space Communication Station 43 antenna at the Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla in Canberra.
This is the antenna used to receive signals from the Voyager spacecraft.
@heidihp@iwatts@zenna@hermann@eyesmile@sunraye Thanks everyone, it was a brilliant day. Yes Gena there is communication going on. It was receiving while we were there which is why it is on a bit of a tilt. When the communication finished it was moved back to its upright position and I was amazed how quickly it could be moved to its "off" position.
Wow what an interesting few days it must have been, really look forward to seeing more pics. Anything to do with deep space blows my mind a bit but my husband and daughter are real deep space fans!
@paulaw They would love Tidbinbilla then. We have quite a few deep space places out here. Had a brilliant time in Canberra. The exhibitions were wonderful.
@cathy366 Thanks Cathy. If I would have known we could have met up. We were there at 10 am then we went to the Mapping Exhibition in the afternoon. Both excellent exhibitions.
