Canberra from Telstra Tower by onewing

Canberra from Telstra Tower

We have been away for a few days and I am now on catch up.

Got back tonight from a 3 day trip to Canberra, mainly to see two exhibitions.

1 Gold and the Incas Exhibition at the National Gallery Canberra

2 Mapping our World Exhibition at the National Library of Canberra

We did lots of other things too as you will see from the photos. It has been a very busy 3 days and I will catch up with your photos and reply to your comments on my photos at the weekend.

This is a view of Canberra taken from the top of the Telstra Tower.

I thought this was a triptych to start with - great shot Babs, and what a lovely scene behind those windows.

@iwatts That's good Ian. A triptych photo is how I wanted it to look. Good to see that my idea worked.

@happypat Thanks Pat. Canberra is very dry at the moment. It was 39 degrees each day we were there. Hope they never get another bush fire like the devastating one in 2003.

@hermann Thanks Sally. Yes, elevator and then stairs to the next floor up to the open look out.

@savannah51 It is also known as Black Mountain Tower and it is on Black Mountain Drive, Acton, Canberra. Worth a visit.

@sunraye Thanks Raye. Fantastic view. Very windy up there though.

@sunraye Thanks Raye. It was a bit hot up there though. Brilliant view of Canberra.

A natural triptych, very well spotted Babs. Sounds a bit hot to be sightseeing though, although you must be fairly used to it. Gorgeous scene.

Beautiful scenery. (I have to look at a map to see where Canberra is.)

@paulaw Thanks Paula. It was a bit hot, but luckily we didn't have to do much sight seeing we mainly went down there for the exhibitions which were excellent and most things were inside. 39 degrees upwards was a bit too hot to be out for too long. We tend to walk in the shade!!!

@mcmary Thanks Mary. It is very dry in Canberra at the moment and hot. Hope they don't get another devastating bush fire like they did a few years ago.
