Watching the waves by onewing

Watching the waves

I am photo'd out today. I have spent most of the day looking for Port Stephens photos in my albums for an upcoming exhibition. We have to get all the photos together by Wednesday and then a chap called William Chatenay will decide which ones go in a calendar of the area which he is putting together.

I have been trying to catch up on 365 too. Consequently I haven't had time to take a photo today and this one was taken a couple of weeks ago at Nobby's Beach, Newcastle. I saw this lady deep in thought and took quite a few photos of her at different angles and she didn't even spot me.

It has been sunny today, but gone so chilly. Lit our wood burner fire for the first time this year. Looking forward to a cosy night.

Today's black and white photo

All the best with your upcoming exhibition -- no need to apologize as this is a beautiful shot -- wish I was there !!

@nanm @beryl Thanks. I haven't got my photos in the calendar yet, just got to submit them all first along with numerous other members of our club. I had two photos in our 2014 Port Stephens calendar though so was pleased about that.

Haha, I know that photo'd out feeling.....! I've been trawling through our holiday photos trying to decide which ones to edit/delete/put in a photo book. It makes you goggle eyed after a while doesn't it! Nice reflective image.

A lovely image, I can quite relate to just sitting there contemplating. Yes, it is easy to get photo'd out. I think we have all been there!

This is so restful. Oh to swap places with her. I just love sitting and gazing out to sea. Best wishes for your exhibition. Hope it all falls into place for you.

Like the horizontal lines and the serenity of this photo. You must let us know how you got on!

Sounds like a wonderful idea having a calendar with local photographer's images. Really like this image, tells a story :-)

This picture tells me a story. A story of contentment but of longing too.

Good luck on getting your photos chosen! This is a beautiful shot. Would love to be the one sitting there. I belong near the beach and ocean!

Yes really makes you wonder what her thoughts were as she watched the waves roll in. Good luck with the exhibition photo sorting!

@jackie8 Yep. I was absolutely goggle eyed by the end of the day. I have problems with my neck too so had a splitting headache caused by my neck. Still got a headache today. Must look for a new neck on ebay!! ha ha.

@888rachel David said she is probably remembering when she was a surfie.

@ubobohobo Thanks so much. I know how this lady feels. I just wander down to the beach at home and can get lost watching the ocean. We very often get dolphins swimming along in the bay too which is a real bonus.

@quietpurplehaze Thanks. I gather that Michael is going to put pictures on a website of all around our area and will have to see if any of our photo club members get any in the display. We did have a Port Stephens calendar which our local newsagency put together (he does one each year) and this year it was members of our photo club who has photos on the calendar. David and I were lucky enough to get some of our photos in that calendar. It was all good publicity for the club too.

@hermann Thanks Sally. It was good publicity for our club to have the Port Stephens calendar this year and David and I got a few photos in it between us. We will have to see how the collection of our photos goes in Michael's website.

@dgrynn Thanks Deb. She was so lost in thought she didn't even see me wandering round taking her photo.

@helenmichelled Thanks. It is almost winter here, but we still get plenty of sunshine and it doesn't get freezing cold like in the UK. Having said that I lit our woodburner fire for the first time last night and it was so cosy.

@sioux @lilminimonka @creampuff Thanks so much. You can get really lost in thought watching the waves can't you.

@lynnz Thanks Lyn. I belong near the ocean too. Can't imagine living anywhere else now. Have lived 200 metres from the beach for 17 years and I'm not moving again.

@paulaw Thanks Paula. David said she is probably remembering when she was a surfie chick. So peaceful watching the waves though whatever you are thinking. Very therapeutic.

@loweygrace Thanks so much Lois. I love living by the ocean.

Lovely! Yes, it must be a wonderful life to be so close to the sea. Hope you get a chance to take a breath and good luck in the exhibition!
May 11th, 2014
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. I have taken a few breaths today. I have had a very lazy Mother's Day and it has been lovely. Even had a bit of a Nanna nap this afternoon too. Don't do that too often. ha ha. Needed it though after spending the day yesterday sorting photos for the Port Stephens theme. Sitting at the computer for a long times plays havoc with my neck and I had a splitting headache afterwards. I really need a neck transplant. Hopefully they will be able to do that one day soon. ha ha.

May 12th, 2014
this feels so relaxing

@gerry Thanks so much Gerry. My Mum loved Worthing too, she lived there for a while just before the second world war as a nurse and fell in love with the place. She would have loved to have stayed there too but unfortunately, the war ended her dreams of that. Hope you manage to make your dream come true. I hated winter in the UK too, we are almost in winter here, but it doesn't get too cold and of course, in Australia we have lots of beautiful days in winter too.

@kathiecb Thanks Kathie, you wouldn't have too far to go for a beer either as just behind this spot is Mereweather surf club.
