On Monday while I was doing my grocery shopping I noticed the logos on some of the shops and thought it would be a nice idea to put some of them together as a collage. So living dangerously I took a few pictures in the shopping centre with my mobile phone. (It is illegal apparently to take photos in our shopping centre). I then went into Nelson Bay and found more logos and as you can see I have put them together in this collage. I am quite pleased with the result.
I wonder how many Aussies can recognise what the logos belong to. No prizes though, but I will give you a round of applause if you get them all right.
Fascinating, Babs. No cameras in our shopping centres either. It is impossible to stop phone users. I do it when I want to, but don't include people. It also says no dogs and I have smiled to see an elderly gent with his gorgeous fluffy white pooch meandering round with one of those push basket shopping carriers.
Splendid idea for a collage Babs, used to do the Pub Quiz, looks like the interval paper name all the logos, can only manage 9 out of 16 rubbish score lol;)
I think cameras are always frowned on in shopping centres even if there are no logos to say so! Well done and I like the idea and the way you have executed it!
Aha, I recognise all of these Babs being a fellow person for NSW! I had fun actually matching them up with the names as I went through, that rule sounds quite silly though! Congrats on living dangerously Babs! ;)
I think I have 14. Don't know the one top second left. There is an ipad game called LogoQuiz, and it is just like this. Guessing all the logos. Amazing how you can see it every day and not know it.
@ethelperry Thanks Ethel. There are signs on the doors of our shopping centre saying no photos, but I do use my phone if I see something interesting. You have to be a rebel sometimes don't you.
@creampuff That isn't a problem. The photograph police don't knock on your door, they just escort you out of the shopping centre. That's what they did with my daughter, ha ha.
@girlie Thanks Robin. I didn't know about the no camera rules until a friend and myself were told to leave Kmart because we were taking a photo of the metal ceiling in there because it looked interesting. The lad who told us was only young and perhaps we shouldn't have laughed but we did get the photos. I think the no cameras rule is in case anyone wants to get photos with a view of robbing the place. I'm too old to be a burglar now though, ha ha.
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel, I think there is a logo on the doors of our shopping centre saying 'no cameras' maybe I should go back and get a photo of it, ha ha.
@lilminimonka Thanks Brianna. Well done for knowing all the logos. I think the no photos rule is in case people want to take photos with a view of robbing the place. A few months ago someone got in through the roof but luckily couldn't get into any of the individual shops.
What a great idea and it does indeed work really well- very colourful. It could almost be a quilt! We too are not allowed to photograph in shopping centres though I don't think that's well known. My camera club did a trip to a shopping centre in an evening last year to do some "street" photography and we had to arrange it beforehand and then all wear passes all eve. Fun though!
