Thanks to everyone who have commented on my photos the last couple of days, as many of you know our photo club annual exhibition was this weekend and we have been pretty busy.
The exhibition now goes to our local library for the next couple of months and the photos from the exhibition will be rotated on a weekly basis (40 photos at a time), so still more work to do.
Also we ask the visitors to our exhibition to vote on their favourite photo in each category and we now have the votes to add up.
Today I have been trying to catch up on grocery shopping and housework so the photos for the next couple of days will be ones I took at Oakvale Farm a couple of weeks ago.
Believe it or not the kangaroo on the left is a baby and is still feeding off its mother. I think it is reluctant to leave home and from the expression on the mother's face she seems quite happy to keep her baby with her for as long as possible.
Think of those stretch marks! This reminds me of Carnarvon Gorge, where a 'baby' kangaroo tried to get back into Mum's pouch, and she was boxing it to keep it out. Sort of like 'time to leave home kid...!' This is adorable.
You are a busy lady Babs. Sounds fun though. I would love to be more involved with photography but I have just joined a photo graphic society so Imay get busy. Love this shot too.
@888rachel Thanks Rachel. I think this one is just a bit too big to get back in the pouch, but no doubt it has tried. There was another kangaroo at the farm with a baby in its pouch and the pouch was trailing along the ground. The poor mother was bow legged. ha ha.
@pcoulson Oh dear. At least your son didn't have to live in his mothers pouch. ha ha.
Being ex RAAF we were posted to New South Wales and our kids decided to stay in Melbourne. Easy!!
@macromover Thanks Jan. Be careful what you wish for sometimes though. I have been the events co-ordinator at our photo club for the last 3 years and I have just handed over to someone else. I need some breathing space. I am still involved with lots of things in the club, but not on the committee since August. David is secretary of the club and that job takes up so much time. Add that to all our other activities and I wonder where I ever found to work. It is hard work being retired. ha ha.
That's a fabulous shot, I never would have believed it if I didn't see it. They would normally be long gone before the size of this one... just one of those teenagers that refuse to leave ;-) Congrats on PP.

Thank you all so much. sorry for the group reply again, but I am really trying to catch up today.
I just loved the expression on the mother kangaroos face in this shot, she clearly loves her baby dearly which is probably why it still hasn't left home.
