I took this on Sunday while out with the photo club members.
The jacaranda trees on the coast where I live have been a bit straggly this year, but just go inland a bit and this is what you see. The flowers are starting to drop now, but they still look beautiful with their purple carpet.
Reminds me of a fabulous day we had on Jacaranda Thursday in I think it was Grantham ( Australia) . We arrived in the town on this day not realising that everyone was dressed in purple and all the shops were welling purple food and drink etc. we has a lovely day. Thanks for reminding me!
This is just an incredible row f trees Babs......such a stunning colour....love those Jacaranda trees...I have heard of them but never seen them blossom before! Fave!
I saw these for the first time in Australia, flying into Brisbane. They are amazing trees and the whole city was alive with purple. This is a gorgeous scene and takes me back to a very fun photo walk there!
@claireuk Thanks Claire, this is just around the corner from a street called Jacaranda Avenue. They look lovely there trees on both sides of the road making an archway across the road, the problem was there are lots of cars parked too which spoil the picture on Jacaranda Avenue.
@happypat@paulaw Thanks so much for the favs. I first saw jacaranda's when we lived in Cyprus for three years and love to see them flowering here too. We have a jacaranda in our garden, but it doesn't look as good as these. I think some of our other trees choke it a bit.
@seattlite@888rachel@eyesmile@tabarlett@angelat Thanks so much for the favs. They are my favs too. I just love it when they are flowering. We have one in our garden Rachel and the clean up isn't too bad. Mind you our tree isn't as beautiful as these. I think our other trees choke the jacaranda a bit.
@pcoulson I agree Peter, the blossom is beautiful. The first time I saw jacaranda trees was when we lived in Cyprus and I have loved them ever since. They flower in April out there though and the road to Limassol is beautiful at that time of year.
Babs, you are too kind!! I've never seen large trees with blossom that colour before.
