Sunflare by onewing

Sunflare

It has been a pretty hot day today and I didn't venture too far outside.

I have had a bit of a domestic day and I had to catch up on housework, including the washing and ironing and also had to catch up on emails to overseas friends who I have been trying to keep in touch with since Christmas.

I spotted the sun shining through one of the trees in our garden while I was hanging out the washing and grabbed my camera to try and capture the sun flare shining through the branches.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on the photos in both my albums over the last couple of days. Sorry I can't reply individually, I am so busy at the moment. I hope you are enjoying my month of street art in my topics album. I just love street art.

Your washing must dry really quickly Babs...no driers for you! Thinking about washing, you see less & less washing drying on the line in the UK...everyone is out at work so they must dry in the driers! Love your sun flare....essential to have trees if you can in your country!

@ethelperry It wasn't direct sunlight, just the light behind the tree. I have a friend who damaged the sensor on her camera by shooting directly into the sun. You are okay if you are quick though.

@happypat Yes the washing does dry quick, especially when it is 35 degrees. We do have a tumble dryer but only need it very occasionally, usually just to finish off the drying if the washing is still a bit damp once it comes off the line. Usually in winter though.

Yes we have lots of trees, they give plenty of shade. We did have to have 3 trees taken out a couple of years ago though because the roots were causing damage. We do lose limbs off some of the trees during storms too. Gum trees are very susceptible to losing limbs. Only one has landed on one of our cars so far though. Didn't cause much damage, Subaru's are pretty tough.

@fullcircle Thanks for the fav Cindy. This was sooc, I just noticed the sunlight coming through the tree while I was putting the washing on the line and thought there's today's photo.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter, it is a tall tree anyway. Lost a limb off it a few weeks ago during a storm too. No damage though

Lovely sun flare Babs, that looks quite a big tree!

@onewing thanks for that long reply Babs......same as me with the washing then....I have just finished ours off today, they dried quite well outside! One thing about the drier is they come out very soft....hot sun dries them like a board sometimes!
