Dredging the Port

We have been in Newcastle all day today because David had a dental appointment.

This is a photo of the David Allen, dredge with Nobby's Lighthouse in the background.

Maintenance dredging of the Port of Newcastle is undertaken on a continual basis to provide safe, deep-water access to the port.

Port of Newcastle's dredge, the David Allan, operates 12 hours per day, seven days per week.

This is a very busy port with lots of coal and container ships coming and going. Plus the occasional cruise liner too and Navy ship. Plus there is a dry dock where ships can be repaired.

@paulaw @chimfa Thank you both. Okay for me. It was David who had the Endodontist appointment. This was the second of three visits he needs to have root canal work done. Not a happy bunny. As you know Jane, he isn't very brave when it comes to dentists of any variety after lots of years being subjected to RAF dentists. No doubt Ed feels the same.
