As I am limited with photography opportunities at the moment until my wrist has healed, I have been looking through my old photos and came across the street art photos I took at the Powerhouse in Geelong when we were in Victoria a few months ago.
I thought I would post street art photos from Powerhouse for the next few days.
Thanks to Marnie, @golftragic who showed me where the Powerhouse was and went along with David and I to visit the building. It was lovely to catch up with another 365er.
If Kane @karlow75 reads this I am sure the Powerhouse is somewhere you would be interested in visiting.
The old Power station B Geelong or the Powerhouse, as it has been renamed, was an old derelict building, with most of its windows smashed, standing alone on a vacant block of land. It is still standing and it has been renewed as a canvas for graffiti artists and also for anybody who wants to put their work up on display on the walls of the Powerhouse.
Inside the walls of this abandoned Powerhouse, and even on the walls outside the huge Powerhouse, dozens of artists have left their mark. This graffiti artists paradise, once an old metal and concrete Power Station, is now a legal street art precinct, where dozens of artists have left their mark. The beauty of this legal graffiti canvas is that people can come and paint, express themselves and leave their work up for a while. Most of the work will eventually be painted over so that more artists can come and display their work.
Here is a link to the Powerhouse if you are interested.
Stunning Babs ! -- understand the frustration of the limitations re wrist -I also am still limited to just using my "handbag camera - tried the other yesterday ,but it was too painful !! Patience is a virtue Babs !!
@beryl Thanks Beryl. I am doing quite well and now that I only have the splint it makes life easier. I am just very busy tracing family history for a friend too, so keeping pretty occupied. Hope you are going well and hopefully will be more mobile soon.
@happypat Thanks Pat. Going pretty well now. Much better now that I just have the splint instead of the back slab. Not allowed to put any weight on my wrist though until the end of September, but have some mobility in the splint.
@golftragic
As I am limited with photography options at the moment I thought I would share these taken at the Powerhouse as I realized I didn't show them earlier in the year. It is a really interesting place and I was so glad that Marnie @golftragic showed David and I where it was.
I am also pretty busy with tracing a friends family history too, so still got lots to occupy my time.
