If you take a look at yesterday's photo you will see this mosaic in the centre of the photo.
Unfortunately, there were lots of people standing on it and I had trouble getting a photo. So, with my natural Yorkshire charm I said "Excuse me could you move for a minute please while I take a photo of this mosaic" and to my surprise everybody did just that. I took the photo, thanked them very much and here is the result.
When I had taken the photo I noticed a young chap standing next to me and he said "Thank you". Apparently he had been trying to get the same photo with no result and thanks to me he managed to get the shot he needed too.
This is another shot from Dunedin Railway station. There were lots of photo opportunities here.
Thanks to everyone who voted for and told me that my Milford Sound photo was on the TT. I seem to be on a bit of a roll with the TT's at the moment, it has got to be downhill from now on though, ha ha.
We are out for dinner again tonight, so I won't be able to catch up until either later this evening or tomorrow.
What a beautiful piece of mosaic work -- such wonderful colours , So brave of you to voice your desire to tale a photo of this It's amazing how people still respond to politeness --Well done you . !
Haha must have something to do with my Yorkshire heritage as well .. I asked someone to go back and come back through the archway/doorway again.. they obliged.. nice shot..
Great shot and I love your Yorkshire charm! I have a Yorkshire father and a Lancashire Mother so there is no hope for me. I have a reputation for 'saying it as it is!'
What a lovely mosaic. And what great craftsmanship has gone into it. Congratulations on the TT too, a very well deserved place for such an amazing photo.
@thistle Ha ha Joyce, no hope for either of us I reckon. I was born in Yorkshire but lived in Lancashire also, so subtle as a flying mallet comes to mind.
