Continuing photos taken at Dunedin Railway Station, I thought this staircase had an M C Escher feel to it.
I did think of converting it to b&w but decided against it because the colour version showed the wear on the handrail more clearly. I love the way the varnish has worn off after years of use.
A wonderful example of gorgeous decorative craftsmanship -- I am glad you decided to show us the colour version as it shows the delicate coordinating beautiful colours of the whole scene !
What a fantastic piece of architectural design and workmanship, love the lighting, patterns and shapes, beautifully captured Babs without a person in sight, fav:)
@boxplayer Thanks so much. I bet the M C Escher exhibition was fantastic, would loved to have seen it, but I think it was a bit too far to visit for the day. :)
Sorry for the group reply, but I have had a very long day today and it is so humid this evening. I guess I will be in bed early tonight. My eyes are closing now.
It took me a while to get a photo of this staircase with no people walking up and down it and then when I thought it was clear there was a little boy playing at the bottom of the stairs, but my patience paid off and I was pleased with this photo.
