Marine Rescue Launch - The John Thompson by onewing

Marine Rescue Launch - The John Thompson

Today's photo is another one taken yesterday at the commissioning of the Port Stephens Marine Rescue's new rescue launch - John Thompson.

Here you can see the blessing of the launch given by Marine Rescue Chaplain Richard Wrightson.

We have been out most of the day, thankfully it has been slightly warmer today than it was yesterday.
looks a magnificnet boat.and I suppose it has all the most modern equipment for marine rescue situations. You seem to be out all day every day Babs never a dull moment for you two

@gilbertwood @ivan @olenadole @cherrymartina @ziggy77 @pusspup @thistle @kerristephens @ladymagpie @seattlite @stephanies @karens54 @craftymeg @pcoulson @lyndamcg Thanks everyone. The John Thompson is the latest launch in the fleet of marine rescue crafts. It is named after John Thompson 1932-1912 who was the founder of the Port Stephens Marine Rescue. @happypat This is the first boat to be bought with a Government grant. All the previous boats were paid for by donation. John Thompson's predecessors the Daniel Thain and the Codi K were paid for by donation and named after the benefactors grandson and granddaughter.
