Sandboarding by onewing

Sandboarding

I have had a really lazy day at home today. It doesn't happen very often.

Here is another photo taken at Birubi a few days ago. I took this shot from the flat roof of the surf club using lots of zoom.

In the far distance across the dunes, if you look carefully, you can see lots of people sandboarding. It looks like lots of fun. Easy sliding down the dunes but very hard work climbing up again.

The dunes are over 30 metres high and 1 km wide in places.
Awesome

What a wonderful expanse of sand. Sandboarding sounds like fun, I think I'd need a motorised board to get back up the hills though.
September 25th, 2016
I don't think I have even heard of sandboarding....... I love this shot though, especially the golden colour of the sand against the blue sky, fav.

@happypat It is a bit of a hike climbing up the sand dunes. Makes your legs ache I can tell you.
September 26th, 2016
@kjarn They are amazing Kathy.
September 26th, 2016
@inthecloud5 It is a climb in places to get to the top of the dunes. I've walked over the dunes to Tin City and that was hard work and I've ridden on a camel here but not tried sandboarding.
