I was supposed to be at the hospital in Newcastle today for more tests, but they phoned just before I left to say the doctor was off sick so I had to reschedule my appointment.
I had to fast for the tests, so the good news is that I could have a cuppa and something to eat much earlier than I had thought.
I thought I would try a different Little Planet image today. In the YouTube presentation on how to do this type of processing, Gavin Hoey the instructor showed a photo of flowers processed this way and I thought I would give it a go. It makes an interesting image.
The original photo of the poppies were taken at a café opposite the War Memorial in Canberra. The café is called Poppies and the backs of the chairs in the café have gorgeous images of poppies on them. This is one of those images given a bit of a 'seeing-to'
We are out this evening so I won't be able to catch up again until tomorrow.
Doctor: Flo, who's on my calendar for today?
Flo: I've got Mr. Johnson and Babs coming in for tests
Doctor: Babs, is that the one always carrying the camera around?
Flo: Yes, doctor, I believe that's the one
Doctor: Send her some poppies and tell her I'm sick
Flo: Will do, Doctor
I'm pretty sure that's how it went. Good thing as it afforded us all the opportunity to see this great image. Your processing skills are moving to a new level!
@stray_shooter Ha ha, you could be right. I even took a photo a while ago while I was sitting in A&E after fracturing my wrist as couple of years ago. I move a couple of patients so that I could get a photo of the Aboriginal Art on the wall. http://365project.org/onewing/365/2015-08-10
I guess they must have remembered me.
I enjoyed watching the video about how it is done, thank you. I don't have Photoshop but it is interesting to watch how these techniques are achieved. Nice poppies!
Hope you get your tests soon. All the best.
Very interesting image...and had to find out more. Photoshop et alia are something of a black art for me just yet although having just watched gavtrain's video/tutorial...am raring to have a go in the not too distant... TYF the link.
This is very clever and beautiful done. Many years ago I attended one of Gavin Hoey's workshop and did learn a few things about Photoshop. I think he is so creative and very good.
At least you managed to eat something a little sooner, but another wait for you. This is so interesting, it looks like a work of art. Gavin Hoey is a good instructor and I enjoy his tutorials.
@nicolecampbell A dinner in Anzac Hall sounds interesting. We always visit the War Memorial when we go to Canberra. Being a retired 'Forces wife' and the fact that one of my relatives is on the Roll of Honour we always attend the closing ceremony when we are in Canberra.
@johnfalconer Ha ha, me too. It meant that I could eat and drink quicker than I thought. No wonder he got sick. Have you been to hospitals lately they are full of sick people.
@taffy Funny you should say that Taffy. The poppy designs are on the backs of the chairs in a café called Poppies opposite the War Memorial in Canberra.
