Last year the Steamfest ran a competition for pictures of locomotives that have featured in Steamfests over the years. There were 600 entries and they chose 16 to print on metal billboards for permanent display on Maitland Station. Each billboard is about 2 metres x 1 and a half metres. Here is a collage of all the winning entries and the bottom right photo is David's entry. No prizes, just glory.
Unfortunately, the light wasn't right to get a really good photo of the last 8 photos in this collage so there is some reflection on the photos.
Here is a link to the photo I took at last year's Steamfest showing David next to his winning photo.
@maggiemae 200 of the winning photos did go into a book about the Steamfest and these 16 were chosen to be on permanent display on Maitland Railway station.
This is a link to the photo I took of him just after it appeared on the station before last years Steamfest. http://365project.org/onewing/365/2016-04-10
thanks, he was thrilled. About 200 of the competition photos appeared in a book about the Steamfest too because it was the 50th anniversary last year of the Maitland Steamfest.
