We have been at a barbeque all afternoon so no time for photos today.
Yesterday I posted a photo of a lace monitor lizard that I believe could be a male he was huge, about 2 metres long. Close by was this gorgeous lace monitor. I wonder if this could be the female partner of yesterday's chap.
This one was on the ground and seemed quite tame, she is smaller than the one posted yesterday and I would say she is about 1.5 metres long (5 ft). She didn't seem concerned that I was close by taking photos, but I did make sure I had a quick exit plan in case she came towards me, those claws look lethal and I didn't want her to mistake me for a tree to climb.
Haven't had time today to catch up with your photos but I hope to spend some time later this evening checking them out.
By the way, I have been told by a 365er that my photo Huge Sky has reached number 1 on the Top Twenty, thanks so much for putting it there.
Such attractive markings - I think I should also keep out of her way -- I had a laugh - she couldn't possibly mistaken you for a tree trunk ,unless they have very poor eye sight ! :)
@beryl@maggiemae@pusspup@dide@haskar@quietpurplehaze@mave@777margo@cruiser@sangwann@gilbertwood@susie1205 Thanks. We are so lucky to see so many of these lovely reptiles in our area. I see them quite often in the bushland close to where I live. I think because we get lots of tourists here they must be quite used to people taking photos of them.
Here is a clip of a lace monitor (goanna) trying to escape somebody filming him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osInN43aWlE @julzmaioro People whose houses are on the edge of bushland see them in their gardens on occasion. @ludwigsdiana She was going in an opposite direction so maybe they had had a bit of a domestic, ha ha. @happysnaps How lucky to have them on your property, they are gorgeous creatures.
