I hope you enjoyed my photos taken at Birubi over the last few days.
For the next few days I will be posting photos taken at Newcastle Art Gallery.
As some of you will know, a week ago we attended our friend Lloyd's birthday party on Saturday and on Sunday we had a buffet lunch at the Newcastle Art Gallery after our viewing of the 2017 Archibald Prize artworks.
Today's picture is my favourite artwork in the Archibald's and it was also the People's Choice winner too. The lady looking at the painting is Lloyd's sister Adrienne who flew over from New Zealand for the parties.
Over the next few days I will post my second favourite painting and also my third favourite too and after that I will post the winning Archibald painting. Hope you enjoy looking at them.
Sorry I have been absent lately, had a busy week and another very busy weekend.
We are just off out to a friends house but I will hopefully be able to catch up later this evening.
This is a stunning painting Babs but I love your capture if thus lady looking up at this strong mans face. He us looking straight out of that frame right into your soul! The
Awesome art work.
We like Anh Do too we watch him on TV too.
I really like the painting he did of ( Charlie Teo- the Australia well known Neurosurgeon) My children love the books he writes too.
Fav.
@happypat Thanks Pat. Jack does have a haunting face doesn't he. He has had a hard life. Anh said he wanted to capture the loneliness that has been Jack's constant companion and I think he has achieved that.
He introduced Jack as 'an esteemed actor, former heroin addict and jailbird, member of the stolen generation, gay man and latter-day indigenous activist.

@casablanca Jack's sad eyes do follow you around the room. Everywhere I went at the exhibition my eyes were always drawn back to this painting.
