As we were leaving the café at the wharf yesterday, after eating our bacon and egg rolls, I was taking photos of the reflections on the water when I spotted this little girl playing in the sand. She was in a world of her own.
No time to take photos today as I have had a busy day. Shopping this morning and then I took Elizabeth (John's widow) and her sister in law out for lunch. Elizabeth seems to be coping pretty well after John passed away a couple of weeks ago, but she does have Alzheimer's disease and although she knows John has gone, I am not sure whether she realizes that he has gone for good. We had a lovely lunch though and she seemed to enjoy herself.
You are a good friend Babs! They would appreciate your care & sometimes memory does us favours, you would have a lovely meal with friends, present & past.
@sangwann@henrir She was perfectly safe. The beach wasn't crowded because believe it or not it is the middle of winter here. Her father was just out of the picture taking photos of her playing, which is why she is on the edge of this photo. I didn't want to get her Dad in the photo too.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond You saw exactly what I saw Jackie, I was taking photos of the reflections on the water and then I spotted the little girl playing.
@happypat Thanks Pat, the little girl made me think of Zoe, she had dark hair and bunches when she was little and was always absorbed in her own world when on a beach, just like this little one.
We did have a lovely lunch and Elizabeth had a nice day out. Her sister in law Maureen is here from the UK until Friday so after lunch I drove them back to Regis Care Home and left Maureen there for a few hours so they could have some quiet time together and then picked her up and drove her back to Elizabeth and John's house where she is staying while she is here. I think Christine, J & E's daughter will keep the house so they have somewhere to stay when the visit Elizabeth from Sydney.
@louannwarren Thanks Lou Ann, this little girl was having a lovely time playing in the sunshine.
I think Elizabeth had a nice day out, Alzheimer's is a dreadful disease. She is fine as long as I keep her on the subject of things that happened a while ago, but ask her what she had for lunch yesterday and she wouldn't have a clue. She is such a sweet person and a good friend.
Ah to be young again...well, maybe not that young...not a care in the world! Maybe it is just as well if Elizabeth doesn't know that John has passed but she is going to need assistance and I hope she gets good care. Very sad.
