False Eyelashes

We have been out for lunch today at a friends house and the weather has been perfect for the first day of Spring.

As we were leaving I spotted this bug on the door of my car so had to take a photo of it.

No idea what variety of bug it is but I can't help feeling that the false eyelashes are a bit over the top, ha ha.

I have tried to identify it but agree with Jen @365projectorgjenfurj it does look like a mosquito but it was enormous, probably about an inch long from tip to toe. Obviously a male because of the feathery antennae but if it is a mosquito I couldn't see a proboscis. Maybe it isn't as prominent in a male as a female because they don't bite. Glad it is a male though I wouldn't fancy a bite of this chap.
@ethelperry Trust me Ethel my car isn't clean. This bug just happened to land on a small area of the car that isn't as dirty as the rest. Plus I upped the brightness so you can't see the muck as clearly.
