Another busy day. This morning I went to yoga and then we took Elizabeth to U3A Christmas party this afternoon. Some of you know that our friend John (Elizabeth's husband) died in July and Elizabeth has Alzheimer's.
Last week when we took her out to a Christmas lunch she was very alert, but today she was terribly confused. Some days she is fine and others not so fine. She did seem to enjoy herself though and she was there in the moment. I doubt she remembered where she had been after we took her back to Regis though.
Here is another photo from the Steampunk Festival at Goulburn and to me this group of people were more Victoriana than Steampunk but their costumes were very elegant.
Sorry I am a bit absent at the moment but a lot going on here. Tomorrow we have a hospital appointment for David so will be out all day.
So many different costumes you have seen and captured at the festival. Love these and they do look like they are dressed in Victorian but I do not think men used to go out with a cat's mask in those days.
@beryl Yes Mr Fox does look rather unsure of himself doesn't he. Maybe he was just worried his companions were going to shoot him.
@pcoulson It wasn't a hot day and Goulburn is much cooler than it is where I live so Mr Fox wouldn't be melting. Even so I should imagine he would still be slightly warm in that outfit.
@sangwann Thanks Dionne, it isn't a cat mask, he is a fox protesting about the fox hunts that would have seen his demise.
@henrir I am not too sure if they go to other states in Australia but Goulburn does have a Steampunk Festival each year. I know there are ones in Queensland, Adelaide and Tasmania but that would be quite a hike for them to travel to those.
@jgpittenger Thanks Jane. Elizabeth has good days and not so good days, but she is always jolly and quite happy in the moment. I will continue to take her for outings as long as she knows who I am but I have to keep an eye on her because she does tend to wander off.
I think I agree with you on the Victorian dress- but perhaps this group likes their Steampunk attire to be more sedate and easier to put on- some of those contraptions on others you have posted look rather awkward! Nice shot.
@gilbertwood @inthecloud5 @hermann @kjarn @quietpurplehaze @casablanca @blueberry1222 @paul10 @merrelyn @mittens @seattlite @susiemc @sstcowan @pyrrhula @samae @kwind @Dawn Thanks, sorry for the late reply again, but just got home. Luckily the weather in Goulburn is much cooler than it is where we live and it wasn't too hot this day or the fox would have been melting.
