Still not feeling too good but getting plenty of sleep. I don't seem to be able to stay awake for more than an hour at the moment.
I had a doctors appointment this morning and have had lots of tests and am now taking antibiotic so hopefully they will kick in soon.
Just across the road from where this photo was taken is bushland and last night there was a bushfire in this area. It is quite close to our house and this morning our cars were covered in ash from the fires.
I suspect that the fire was deliberately lit because last night wasn't particularly warm and we did have a sprinkling of rain too, so not the kind of weather for a bushfire to start spontaneously.
Smoke from the fires isn't helping my cough and even though the fire is under control it is still pretty smoky this evening.
Glad you are sleeping a lot and hopefully that will help. I turn into a koala when I am poorly - I am convinced the body heals best when you completely rest it. Except my pesky back, which is stiff as a board in the mornings currently LOL There my theory fails me! Wishing you well again soon, lovely lady. Hope the fire is out and gone soon.
A wonderful capture and stunning image. So sorry to hear about your not well being and the fire. Hope you will soon be back to your normal chirpy self 🌹
I do hope the fire wasn't started deliberately Babs, though with what you've said I would suspect it probably was. Hope you're feeling better soon. Nice capture of the mangroves :)
Just like you would imagine a mangrove place to look like! Beautiful it is too! Fire sounds dodgy to me....some people have some weird bad ideas of how to spend their time! Glad you had tests etc!
Just across the road from this photo are the Mambo wetlands where our bushfire was on Monday. I think it has almost wiped out the koala habitat in the wetlands.
Here is a link to what the fire looked like. One scene in the link is from our local shopping centre. No wonder our cars were covered with ash on Tuesday morning, so close. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-12-11/bushfire-threatens-vital-koala-habitat-in-port-stephens/10605160
@casablanca Sorry to hear your back is still not good. We make a right pair don't we.
@angelar Salt water Angela the mangroves are in the ocean.
Stories like this just make me sick- how can people do that? No conscience whatsoever. Hopefully something can be done to help out the koalas- as for the people who started this? Maybe we should set their house on fire.
