Some of you may remember that a couple of months ago I posted various pillar people artworks in the centre of Newcastle and while we were in Newcastle recently I found three more.
Local artist Rebecca Murray has been commissioned to paint murals on the telecommunication pillars across the Civic Precinct.
The left one is outside a café in the middle of town, the second is outside the old Post Office building and the third one is outside a fish and chip shop.
They really brighten up the city and make a rather boring NBN terminal look interesting.
Yes, I think the other inspired me to go look for street art. We don’t have these pillars decorated or not, but I have found some nice utility boxes and walls. Thanks for the idea. I think there was one with a mouse putting a letter in the post.
They're so fun and creative! The city of Stroudsburg which is near me is apparently having a visitation by snowmen of the same idea- painted by local artists. I hope I can get there to photograph them like you've photographed the Pillar People.
Rebecca did a few mouse art exhibits too as well as the traffic light junction boxes. She is very talented and her artwork really brightens up the city.
