Dad and his Band by onewing

Dad and his Band

This week I am posting old family photos that I have been scanning and editing.

Today's photo is of my Dad, James (back right playing the piano accordion) the other chap to his left also playing the accordion is his brother Harry. I have no idea who the other people are in the photo.

I think this photo was taken about 1936, he must have been about 20 or 21 years old at the time.
Wonderful memory

It looks like you have a great collection of photos - I certainly don't have many of my parents. Someone must have been into photography back then :)

Another great photo! My dad used to have an accordion when I was a young child, but I used to cry when he played it because I didn't like the loud sound!

So lovely to see this. What great memories for you. My dad when he was young played the clarinet in the band of the parish band club. None of his children followed him through my brother was a very popular pop singer in his days.
