Skeleton Mangrove by onewing

Skeleton Mangrove

I am posting early today because I have a friend coming round this afternoon.

As the cinemas are closed at the moment we have decided to have the occasional DVD day at home and today we are going to watch the 1993 movie Dave.

Here is another photo from my walk on the beach on Thursday. I can't go to this beach without taking yet another photo of my favourite tree can I.

You can see the remains of the oyster beds off in the distance if you look carefully.

Glad you found the stingray holes interesting yesterday.
Nice shapely tree, perfect composition on this one, I think.

When I saw the tree I thought this is someone's favorite tree! and sure enough, it was yours. it looks like most of the roots are above ground, but then we don't see the ones underground.
August 23rd, 2020

August 23rd, 2020
I can see why it’s your favorite tree! Lovely shape and strong presence on the empty beach.
August 23rd, 2020
Is that a baby mangrove tree on the right, possibly an offshoot of your favorite tree? Well-presented in B&W.
August 23rd, 2020
Beautiful in b&w.
August 23rd, 2020
love the drama of the skeleton mangrove
August 23rd, 2020
Great capture of this beautiful view.
(The frost was necessary to convert the bitter taste into more sweetness. Today's races no longer need that)

This tree is almost symbolic of all of us during this time...struggling but still hanging in there. I love the raw beauty of this shot.

Thanks, it still looks elegant even though it has ceased to grow.

@kjarn I wish our cinema would open again. It did start up briefly and we went to see The Personal History of David Copperfield and then the cinema shut again because we had Covid cases in our local community.

@casablanca It is a brilliant movie. Hints of either Kennedy or maybe Bill Clinton I suspect but very clever and funny.

@happysnaps The tiny tree is a baby mangrove probably growing from an offshoot of the larger skeleton.

@sangwann There are plenty of mangroves quite nearby, but none so far out on the beach.

@k9photo Yes I too think the baby mangrove is an offshoot of my favourite tree.
