Remembrance

I am posting a bit early today because I will be out all afternoon.

As today is Remembrance Day I thought I would post this photo taken at the War Memorial in Canberra in January 2019.

Wonderful memorial. I remember when we lived in Sydney, we took a weekend down in Canberra for the Floriade Festival. Snowing on the Saturday as we walked around those Spring bulb displays! But on Sunday it was 24ºC and bright and it was also Battle of Britain Day, so we spent some of it watching the goings on at the Avenue of Remembrance there. Some stunning memorials. I never saw this one, it's really very moving.

@casablanca I think this sculpture has only been at the War Memorial since 2015 The chap and his dog are Sapper Darren Smith and his dog Herbie who died in Afghanistan in 2010.
