I am posting a bit late today because we had no power again for about 3 hours and then when the power came back on I have been doing a batch cook again of butter chicken, chicken satay and Hungarian beef to put in the freezer. Thank heaven I didn't start earlier because it would have really messed up proceedings if the power went off in the middle of cooking.
Thanks for putting yesterday's tawny frogmouth on the tp and the pp. They are gorgeous birds.
I spotted this eastern rosella in our frangipani bush but as soon as I got the camera he had already spotted me and was ready to fly off. I did manage this photo quickly though before he went. They are such nervous birds.
You sound very organised with those dishes being prepared for the freezer! I'm sure they will be better than the bought product! These birds are so sweet and not often seen by others so its good to see one here!
What lovely shot of this cutie posing for you. What is going on with your power Babs, it suddenly sounds like where I live. Hello darkness my old friend .....
I feel for you on the power challenge! Glad you were able to get back on track when it came back on. We will sometimes get short stints of power loss when a car accident takes out a power line or a storm somewhere affects the power grid. The tough ones are the big storms that take it out for a few days- which is why we have a generator now. This is a beautiful bird and I'm glad you were able to catch those colors before he flew off!
@maggiemae@busylady Thanks. I have always done batch cooking and while we are in lockdown again I try to keep supplies of ready made meals up so I don't have to go to the supermarket too often.
@olivetreeann@ludwigsdiana Thanks. The power outage has just been in our area of Salamander Bay, Corlette and Nelson Bay. I think it started after a storm a few weeks ago that damaged the junction box and they keep trying to fix the fault (not very successfully obviously) since then. The power goes off for about 3 hours or so until they fix the fault yet again. We have a generator too but don't use it until the power has been off for quite a while, for instance when we get sub tropical cyclones and then the power goes off for days. We also have camping stoves etc so are pretty self sufficient when the power does go off.
