The Late Developer by onewing

The Late Developer

Had a busy day today, up at the crack of dawn and I have gone flop again now. Early night tonight I think.

No time for photos so while wandering around the garden this afternoon I spotted this agapanthus bud.

Most of our agapanthus flowers are in full bloom but this one is a bit of a late developer.

It was in a bit of an awkward position for taking a photo, up against the fence and high on our retaining wall, so I had to climb up on the retaining wall and lean over the flower bed to get this picture with my phone at the angle I wanted. The things we do to take a photo.
Wonderfully clear and detailed image.

That sounds precarious but it is a lovely result - as you say, the things we do ...

Lovely. Some of mine bloomed early and are now beyond their prime but most are still tight buds. It's quite strange :)

@busylady It is quite mauve isn't it, it changed colour as it opened.

@beryl The early night did help a bit but I woke up early again this morning too.

@merrelyn It is a strange year, all of our flowers are having a hard time figuring out whether it is spring, summer, autumn or winter this year. The agapanthus are late flowering this year and all our hippeastrum have finished flowering now but now one is having a second go at flowering. So strange.

@thistle01 Thanks Joyce, I was being very careful.
