Today's pairs photo is of a couple of those machines which have made a come back and are appearing in our shopping centres. The difference is that when I was a child it cost 1 penny to get a gobstopper from one of these machines, now they cost a dollar.
The picture on the right I thought would pair quite nicely and they are of M&Ms.
Believe it or not M&Ms originated in the USA in 1941. That was one of the questions at our trivia nights a few weeks ago.
Great combination with wonderful colours Babs, my mum would not allow me to have bubble gun she thought it very common, but could have gobstoppers the large 1 penny ones could last ages if slipped under the pillow for the next day, lol)
@pcoulson We had a grocery shop when I was a child and had one of these machines outside. I used to love gobstoppers and I occasionally had bubble gum, but was never a fan of it, especially after I blew a huge bubble which burst all over my face and even stuck to my hair. I had to have my hair cut to get the bubble gum off it. ha ha.
@golftragic Thanks Marnie. I remember gobstoppers too and I am sure they were bigger when I was a child, ha ha. Mind you the ones in this picture look quite big.
Great colours again Babs. Make me want chocolate. Love this collage
