light painting domes by onewing

light painting domes

This shot is only to give Peter @pcoulson and Jorlam @jorlam an idea of how we made our light painting dome.
As you will see Peter we didn't put our lights on the edge of the wheel as shown in the YouTube link I sent you because if you put them there you lose some of the light as you spin the wheel on its axis.
The battery, battery case and resistor are taped in the centre of the wheel.
I know this will come out small on 365, but I hope it gives the idea of how we made our wheel.
@pcoulson @jorlam Here are some pictures as to how we made our light painting orb. Hope it is helpful.
Have fun. Look forward to see what you come up with when the nights get shorter.

If anyone else is interested, here is the link to the YouTube demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZEZG7koMNY

They do look really great I have to say, but to complicated for me to engineer and Graham's mechanical skills are worse than mine, lol.

How fun- we'll be doing light painting on the 15th- I'll have to see what we have lying around and do my own version of this!
