I am a bit late posting tonight because we have been out all day, first for a light lunch in Newcastle, followed by the play at Newcastle Theatre Company performance of Relative Values by Noel Coward. NTC is an amateur theatre company, but they are absolutely brilliant.
This evening we went out for a dinner with the friends who came to the theatre with us.
It has been a lovely day, but marred slightly by the fact that I have had another bout of diverticulitis and have been in rather a lot of pain today. Luckily I enjoyed the play because we just had to sit and that eased the pain in my tummy. I am feeling slightly better this evening, but I will be off to bed soon.
While I was gardening a few days ago I thought I would take a few photos of flowers in the garden. As you know I don't very often post photos of flowers, but over the next few days I will be posting a few shots of the flowers in my garden.
Here are the flowers from a strawberry guava bush. We didn't plant it, it just appeared a few years ago, the seeds probably deposited by passing birds. We had no idea what it was but I posted a shot of the fruit on 365 a couple of years ago and Peter Coulson @pcoulson recognised it and identified it for me.
The possums and birds love the fruit so we decided to keep the bush.
I will be posting two shots of these flowers because I am not sure which is best. The one in my main album David preferred, but this one in my Topics album I preferred. Which do you think is best.
This is a beautiful macro shot Babs - great focus , clarity and detail in the flower heads and I prefer this one to the one in your main album for these reasons ! -- fav
Oh dear Babs poor you, being in pain is a drain on your whole body, always there knawing away! Hope it settles down very soon...well by morning! Do you put a hot water bottle on the area of pain of does that make it worse perhaps. Lovely original flower i love that pale greenish shade.
Sorry you are not feeling so good but glad you were able to put that aside to enjoy your day - at least to an extent. I prefer this shot of the two, I just find it a more interesting shot and like your pov.
@happypat Thanks Pat. Yes I put a hot water bottle on my tummy and it eases the pain slightly. I haven't had a really bad bout of diverticulitis for 2 years, so it has slowed me down slightly. I still managed to go to the play in Newcastle yesterday though and after the doctors appointment this morning to pick up antibiotics, David and I ran our U3A photo course. I think I need a bit of a quiet night tonight though, still pretty painful. It takes a lot to stop me.
