Moreton Bay Fig Roots in Colour

This is the colour version of the Moreton Bay Fig roots for Ko. @madeinnl

There are a row of them surrounding a park in Newcastle and at night with the lights from cars and the street lights shining on them they look quite creepy.

@skippysue This tree is at Tocal Homestead and the homestead was built in 1841 so it could date back to that time, so it could be up to 170 years old.

Seem to remember eating Moreton Bay Bugs...have I remembered right?

@huvesaker you probably have. Moreton Bay bugs are flathead lobster and not related to Moreton Bay fig trees in any way.

Great image Babs, I love Moreton Bay root systems. There's a very old one in Swan Hill, goes back to Burke and Wills (or was it Major Mitchell?) I think.
