Good they can plant oaks back in their place. They will last much longer.

@robz I have been told that the pine trees that were planted here were for commercial use but that the conditions were not right (compared to i.e the pine trees grown in Norway, Finland) and the wood not suitable to use (apart from firewood). Oaks are the native trees here in this part of Wales.
