My mentor Rachel challenged me to make a child's portrait capturing joy processed in high key black and white and shoot at 1.8 making sure the eyes if featured are in focus.
That is more difficult than I thought. Most of my pictures were blurred. Happy Roz is a moving Roz. Also I would have liked a more active shot to show joy. I had made a shot in the evening a couple of days back when Mark swings her in the air, but had the 'wrong' aperture. I think I might try that one again with the challenged one (1.8). Tweaked a bit in Lightroom.
Beautiful portrait! I have the same problem getting sharpness in the eyes. 1.8 is gorgeous for the softness everywhere else ( especially for portraits) but miss that focal point and it ruins the photo! Always looks ok on the camera screen but once you look on computer it tells a different story! Sometimes the nose is in focus or upper lip!!!! haha! so annoying! I have learnt though to zoom in when I play back! anyway thisis a gorgeous photo. Well done!
@cybelle thanks for your kind comment. I changed it to black and white in Lightroom but I didn't use a preset, I'm not sure what I did :-) I think split toning.
