Lesson learnt today, not sure why I had to learn it but there you are. The purpose of today was to scout out an area I had been told that was occupied by Barn Owls and popular with other owls. So off I plodded camera in bag as I didn't expect to see much owl activity. Walked for a while and found a large pond worth investigating. Very quiet and serene so thought I would have my two mins of silence. Whilst standing there I thought I wonder if this would be a possible Kingfisher site, well lo and behold up pops a female Kingfisher. This is the worst shot of her as I was totally unprepared for the good shots I could have captured. Think the technical term is Oh Dear!! In reality this not was said or thought, generally berated myself much to the astonishment of a dog walker who appeared at the wrong moment, had to pretend the stamping around, kicking leaves, jumping, waving of arms and expletives were a new form of outdoor Zumba!!!!
Didn't see any owls either.
I know I shouldn't laugh, but your narrative is so funny......The dog walker was probably a trifle worried about you !! Still a great photo, closer than I've ever managed!
