First time I’ve seen one of these, and from perusing the comments above, it’s not the most welcome of visitors. It’s very cute, though.
No, not a ladybug, definitely the Asian version- which although helpful the same way in the garden (they eat aphids) they will not go away. They find cracks in your wall and hibernate in your home for the winter. Come spring you'll find them swarming all over your windows! This happened in our former home 3 times before they finally moved on with the aid of bug spray- it was the only way we could get rid of them! (Believe me, I tried catch and release but there were WAY to many of them to do a hundred a so a day until they were gone.) However, all that being said, it's a great shot- especially the color of the bug against the vibrant green leaves.
