This shot was set up with a black background hanging from the barn and Simon was standing to the right of the shot in front of Murphy with a carrot in his hand. He wanted to get the curve of Murphy's neck to show the definition of his muscles. he has been stabled all winter and will soon start bulking up as he exercises more.
They say don't work with children and animals and it's oh so true. Very difficult to get murphy into position and this is one of many attempts!! In fact his head was too near the edge of the black background and so in PS Simon showed me how to add more black to the top, bottom and LHS of the shot. The rope halter and Simon's arm also cloned out. I have learnt a lot in the last two days and luckily Simon recorded each lesson we did so that I will now be able to sit and watch again what we did and really get to grips with LR and PS.
This sounds like such a productive photography lesson. And to have it all on tape is going to come in so handy over time. You'll give us lessons next time we're together!
What an exquisite photo!!! To a One, everyone seems to agree! I've never been able to get a good photo of a horse, but you absolutely nailed it! And I love that you had the lessons taped so you can go over them again! I'd definitely love that!!! Worth the money right there!
