It's the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend so I sat for an hour counting all the visitors to the garden. It was very disappointing as there wasn't much activity at all - certainly not like it is most mornings. Perhaps I was a little later and they had already visited. Anyway I did see a wren which was wonderful but he was so fast I had no chance of getting his picture. The gang of about 20 starlings paid a brief visit - had a fight over the food and then flew off. A couple of dunnocks and a male and female blackbird and that was all. I was just about to put my camera down when these three goldfinches popped in to say hello. They brightened up my day!!
