2nd December 2014 - Road Block

On my walk this morning I could hear the sounds of chain saws being used and my heart sank. They are back and felling the rest of the fir trees in the lane I walk down every day. As you can see the lane was blocked by the tractor so I walked round it and shouted out to the men and asked them how many trees were they going to chop down and he shouted back "all of them". So sad to see this happening. So many birds nests and squirrels nest are being destroyed. The charm of the lane will never be the same!!

Its so awful isn't it. We have a massive conker tree just at the entrance to the wood which has been there for the 30 years i have lived in the street and I dont know how many hundred years before and it has been ear marked to be cut down

That is so sad, i hate trees being cut. I even hate to see live trees being used for xmas. Such a waste.

One would hope there would be new trees planted somewhere to offset this. At least I hope it's not a coffee shop coming in ;-).
