For the first time I managed to walk all the way down to the beach. It is a very steep hill and murder on my knees but we were told it was the lowest tide of the year and it was amazing to see how far the tide had gone out exposing sand banks not often seen.
From this point you can clearly see the village of Clovelly which is where my niece Ruth lives - thankfully now at the top of the hill in Upper Clovelly.
We didn't go onto the beach as it was very uneven rocks to walk on and I didn't want to take the chance of getting a twisted ankle or worse.
