Now that I have seen this one after seeing the b/w edition I much prefer the colour version -- the b/w is very clinical and soul-less while the colour version gives you warmth and cosiness of this well maintained alley-way which oozes friendliness !
I think you know what I will say. I love colour, and this one speaks to me more. Those pops of colour from the flag and the flowers means the picture is about so much more than the textures on the walls. Love this.
I like both of them Pam, but in this instance I prefer the colour version. To my eye the warmth and atmosphere of the alley are lost in the b&w conversion. My eye wanders in the b&w, but follows the alley's lines in the colour version and allows me to enjoy the visual walk-through.
I had to fav both as I love this one too. I like the b&w, but then, I tend to like b&w when there is a shot with such dramatic structural tones to it. And for street photography, it has more character, to me. BUT, that said, I really think the tones in this are beautiful and warm. And in the b&w we lose the pops of color along the way. A hard choice between the two!
