It has been very windy today with sudden gusts. This wood pigeon was clinging on for dear life!! You can see the feeder full of Finlay's fur swinging in the wind. The birds are taking the fur for their nests. I brought back a bag full of fur when Finlay had his haircut last week.
In the background you can see the clematis Montana which is just about to burst into flower. It is covered with buds - best year so far!! I am looking forward to seeing it in full flower.
I have never heard of putting fur in a feeder either, but I bet the birds just love it! What a cozy nest lining! I love the movement of the feeder, and the absolute stillness of the pigeon.
Such a good idea to use his fur for the birds. When we give Charlie his "in between grooming" hair cuts there is so much hair..unbelievable! Great shot and love the bokeh.
