My Mom and I were talking on the phone for an hour and a half, she lives 1300 miles away, and she loves to talk, so I was walking around in the yard, listening, when the sun painted the sky like this.
@scrappy@sarasdadandmom My dad died in 1997 from cancer. Then my two brothers still lived at home and there were a lot of moms cousins in town but there is just
@pandorasecho I understand. A lot more families seem to spread out more and it's really hard. My son is in Korea, my daughter in Western Colorado, father is in Florida and sisters are in Denver. We are all over the world, thank GOD for internet.
Wow, what a beautiful sunset and silhouette of the trees, Dixie. It truly is different when family is not close by. My Dad passed away from Dementia caused by radiation to his brain cancer in 1998. My sister lives close to my Mom with her husband but I am 100 miles away and do not drive, so we do not get together often. The phone is my connection to my Mom and we have some long conversations as you did with yours.
Beautiful...and glad that you could capture it while talking on the phone. I do that to my sister. haha! It's great that you are close to your mom...not in distance but in communication.
Sometimes mom drives me nuts but my Mother-in-law was just as phone addicted and now has lost interest. She won't call or stay on the line if anyone calls her and I miss her but it reminds me to celebrate that mom still can talk up a storm
It is really hard when family is not close by if you're close in heart. I wish I was closer to my family- both my children and my sisters and father. What a beautiful sunset and just think if you weren't talking to your mother, you might have missed it! Thanks Mom!!
Wow . . what a beautiful flaming sunset! Gorgeous capture! Love the silhouettes and the whole comp. I am not near most of my family either . . but I can't talk and get great shots like this both at the same time. You really caught the moment, Dixie.
