@peterdegraaff It was and one man was washed off the rocks here and turned up a month later at the mouth of a river 300 miles north. Another man died on his boat 25 miles north in the Brookings OR harbor, 16 of our crabbing boats were sunk and all the docks destroyed but most of the fleet got out in time. back in 1964 the tsunami was much worse and wiped out the town and killed 11
What a fantastic collage of so many photos of the harbor in Crescent City, Dixie. It was a shame that one man died as a result of trying to get a photo. Not a smart thing to do. I remember how devastating it was as Crescent City was hit the hardest I believe along the coast of CA. Such a beautiful area that we stayed at one night on our honeymoon, 33 years ago. I was glad to hear that many boats were able to get out as there was time to do so. I did not know you live in CA. I have lived here all of my life.
@pandorasecho I did not realize it is 370 miles to get there from No CA. You must also enjoy, Oregon then. We went into Oregon on our honeymoon also. It is so beautiful up that way though it was cold as it was May when we were there and a good amount of snow.
